Are you focusing on your highest priorities?
Have you ever wondered how some people are able to accomplish so much?
We all have 24 hours in a day. It’s not like the people who build successful businesses, meditate, do yoga, write books, or travel got lucky and was given 27 hours a day. They’ve just focused on their priorities, and made some sacrifices to have the time to focus on their highest priorities, and what is important to them.
Do you want to make the most of your time?
What is important to you? What are your highest priorities in terms of ascending, growing spiritually, and accomplishing personal or professional goals? To stay focused on your highest priorities, and to experience consistent movement in the right direction, you have to focus.

This first step may seem overly simple, but it’s really so important if you want to make the most of your time…
To stay focused on your priorities, you first need to figure out what your priorities are!
I get that there are constant distractions in life. It may be difficult to figure out what your priorities are with all the clutter of should do’s and enticing possibilities to be entertained rather than to create, but uncovering what you really want is worth the effort.
Take some time to quiet your mind and tune into the guidance of your heart to discover at your soul level what is important to you.
What does your soul yearn for and what makes your heart sing?
Is getting fit or staying healthy a priority?
Spending time with your family?
Traveling?
Writing a book?
Raising your kids?
Painting or creative expression?
Meditation and yoga?
Spending time in nature?
Building a successful business?
Inventing a product?
Socializing with friends?
Climbing the corporate ladder?
Furthering your education?
Tune into your inner guidance to determine what your priorities are now. You don’t need to be super specific here and set measurable goals or anything (unless you want to). Just be sure you take some time to figure out what is important to you now and moving forward.
Take some time to do this, and put into writing your top three priorities right now.
When you know your priorities, it makes decision making simple. If you have the option to attend a party, but you’re not sure if you really want to go, check in with what is important to you.
What is your priority?
Is it spending time with friends, or expanding your social circle?
Is it finishing the book you’ve started writing?
Or maybe spending more time with your kids?
If the party is in alignment with your priorities… go! If not… Skipping it may be a small sacrifice you can make to bring you closer to reaching your goals.
If you do find that you are not spending your time doing the things that are important to you, take some time to reflect.
This is not to say you can’t do things that are not in your top 3-priority list… But do take charge of your schedule! Make sure you are actually spending time on you priorities instead of putting them off for later.
How Can You Stay Focused On Your Highest Priorities?
Start Now!
If writing a book is on your priority list, don’t get caught in the thinking trap that someday in the future you will have the time to do it. If you want to write a book, devote a few short blocks of time, and start now!
You don’t even have to commit an entire hour to get started, just write for a few minutes in the morning, on your lunch break or in the evening instead of turning on the TV. Start writing.
If you think, your writing isn’t good enough yet… Don’t let that be an excuse either. The best way to improve your writing skills is to write! Start with just a few paragraphs, or even a personal journal, just start getting in the flow of writing.
My friend Catherine, who wrote “Teen Goddess” recommended I start writing just one page a day when I first told her I wanted to write a book. This is a strategy that really works! Writing one page a day is simple to do, it really doesn’t take long, and before you know it… You have an entire book written!
Another friend of mine wrote his entire book while driving. He spoke out the contents of the book, recorded it, and then hired someone to transcribe it… Writing a book was a priority for him, and so he creatively made it happen.
Eliminate Distractions
If you really want to focus on your highest priorities, you have to find a way to eliminate distractions.
Create a space where you will not be distracted so you can write, paint, meditate, or complete your workout in peace without distractions popping up into your reality.
I’ll stick with the writing example for this one. Set aside a 45 minute- 1 hour block of time to write (or work on whatever is important to you).
Set a timer, close the door, turn off your phone, stay out of your email, stay off facebook, and write for that time allotted time. If it’s your time to write, everything else can wait. Don’t get sucked into multi-tasking by cleaning the house, doing laundry, or peeking in at your facebook timeline during the time you’ve set aside to write.
Focus is key. This is not just for writing either. If your priority is eating healthy, but you’re busy and you end up grabbing take away a few nights a week because you’re always so tired after work, set some time aside. You could set aside a few hours on the weekend to go shopping, and prep all your meals for the week. Then when you are busy and tired after work and the prep is done you have healthy, ready to go meals in your fridge so you’re not as tempted by those fast and easy but unhealthy options.
Focus fully on your priority, and then let it go for a while.
Once your hour of allotted time to write, paint, or work on your business is up, take a break, go for a walk and get out in nature to recharge.
This brings me to the next key point…
Let Go!
Focusing on your priorities is immensely valuable, but once you have focused for a while, one of the best things you can do is to let go.
Figure out what works best for you to let go, relax, and recharge. For me walking in nature and meditating are the top ways for me to reset and recharge myself energetically. These are also priorities of mine, and they offer a much-needed balance to writing, creating, channeling, and working on my website that are also priorities.
Be Optimistic
Get to work on your priorities, and then be optimistic that the entire universe is conspiring with you to help you reach your goals. Fall in love with your work, look for the blessings happening all around you, and shift your perspective to appreciate all you do have rather than focusing on what you do not.
Ask For Help
Be willing to ask for the help you need so you can focus on your highest priorities. If you have young kids and can’t find an hour alone to work on your projects, ask for help. Do you have a friend you could call upon to watch your kids for an hour a week, and then the next week you switch off and give them some free time which you watch their kids? Ask for help and make it happen.
Is increased health and well-being a priority for you but you don’t know where you start? You can always get a guide book, hire a wellness coach, or align with a personal trainer to help kickstart positive new habits in your life.
You also have a huge amount of support from your team of spirit guides and angels. Ask for their help focusing on and accomplishing your priorities too.
Your angels can help you to eliminate distractions, see your next best step, align synchronistic events, meetings and more! Angels are always willing to help, but will rarely jump in to help unless you ask.
So ask! 🙂
Creating huge success in any area doesn’t happen overnight, but it is possible for you when you focus and keep taking steps in the direction of your highest priorities.
