The Absolute Best Essential Oils for Dreaming!
For as far back as I can remember I’ve experienced incredibly real, vivid and psychic dreams. And, except for some terrifying nightmares growing up… I’ve always loved and been fascinated by dreams.
Dreaming is, of course, different for everyone. Some people love dreaming and relish in remembering the fantastic, weird and otherworldly experiences of dream time. Many have even learned to take control of their dreams (called lucid dreaming) and use this time at night to connect with guides and angels, complete spiritual work… Or just flat out fly around, because come on… Flying dreams are always some of the best!
Many have even learned to take control of their dreams (called lucid dreaming) and use this time at night to connect with guides and angels, complete spiritual work… Or just flat out fly around, because come on… Flying dreams are always some of the best!
Some people (myself included) often have precognitive dreams, clairvoyant experiences, or telepathic communication that happens during dream time.
I’ve often dreamed of past lives, both magical, traumatic, on earth and otherworldly… As well as experienced many powerful, real experiences with my guides, angels, and galactic family.

For others, dream time is far less rewarding and much more chaotic. Many people experience the dream space as a challenging or even fearful realm they just want to wake up from.
And of course, there are people who don’t yet remember their dreams at all.

The Dream Catcher Essential Oil Bend
You may have noticed the “Dream Catcher Blend” in multiple of these lists.
Dream Catcher is a Young Living blend comprised of Tangerine, Sandalwood, Ylang ylang, Pepper, Bergamot, Anise, Juniper, Geranium, Blue Cypress, Davana Flower, Jasmine, Chamomile, Rose, Blue Tansy, Grapefruit, Spearmint, Lemon, and Ocotea.
I should probably write an entire post about blending essential oils… But for, now let me just say that when you blend oils together the properties of each oil does not just stack on top of each other.
Rather, when blending the properties of each of the different oils change and combine into something new.
Gary Young is a master at essential oil blending, and this Dream Catcher blend is really special.
If you want to learn to lucid dream, have more psychic dreams, or just dream more positively and vividly, I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
Dream Catcher has really been designed to help you have a positive experience with your dreams… And interestingly it also helps you to manifest your intentions, which are dreams of a whole other kind.
How to Use Essential Oils for Dreaming
There are three main ways to use essential oils for dreaming. The methods are: topical, aromatic, and dietary.
Topical Use
To use oils topically, it’s usually best to first dilute them with a carrier oil like coconut, almond, or Young Living has a great carrier oil called V-6 which is a blend of 6 different carrier oils.
When using oils topically to help with dreams, you’ll want to first check your skin for any sensitivity by using the oil on your inner forearm. If all is good you can then rub the oil on the bottoms of your feet, on the back of your neck, on your wrists, or along the back of your spine.
Aromatic Use
My favorite way to aromatically use oils is with a diffuser! You just add the oil to your diffuser, and probably water depending on the kind of diffuser you have.
(I personally love Young Livings Dew Drop diffuser that comes with the Premium Starter Kit).
Next, turn your diffuser on, place it by your bedside, and you’ll quickly be on your way towards sweet, lucid dreams in no time.
Another way you can aromatically use the oils to improve your dreams is to rub a little of the oil underneath your pillow. I just love falling asleep to the sweet scent of lavender, it’s so lovely!
Dietary Use
Taking essential oils internally is highly controversial and for good reason. Many many essential oils are not meant to be taken internally ever, and doing so could be harmful! Also, certain brands of essential oils should never be taken internally due to being chemically distilled, or because they have synthetic additives.
However, if you use high enough quality oils, and the right kinds, you can receive benefit from taking them internally.
Young Living has an entire line of Dietary Oils that are safe to be taken internally, this is called their Vitality Line.
Once you’re certain that:
A. The type of essential oil you want to take is safe for internal use.
and …
B. The brand of essential oils you’re using is pure and safe to be taken internally.
You can then can either add a few drops of your chosen essential oil to a vegetarian gel capsule and take it like a pill.
Or you can add a few drops to food, tea, or water and ingest the oils that way.
